I call myself a Body Electrician because health, like electricity, depends on the condition of the systems that generate and use it.
My work bridges psychotherapy and functional medicine, viewing the body as an interplay of bio-electricity, biochemistry, and biological function — so that people with chronic ill health can understand what's truly happening within their system, find the right support at the right time, and reconnect with their energy and quality of life.
My approach rests on a simple belief: that health improves when we understand and live in harmony with our own mind, body, and spirit.
My services fall into two parts:
Finally, for anyone caring for, or in a relationship with, someone living with chronic ill health, I also offer a therapeutic space dedicated to your own needs.
When we are chronically physically ill we need someone who understands us and our health picture holistically.
We need that person to help us navigate the murky waters of the limitations of traditional health systems and the confusing array of legitimate alternative options.
We need that person to help us figure out who to see and when to see them.
Finally we need someone to help us identify and work with any psychological ways that our symptoms can worsen and likewise improve.
When we are chronically physically ill we need our symptoms - no matter how strange they might seem - to be taken seriously.
We need a clinician who has experience in complex, chronic ill health and the array of factors that could be contributing to our unique picture of ill health.
We need our healthcare practitioners to be determined to stay with us as we work through the complex process of identifying any root causes of our symptoms.
We also need them to have a good network of trusted specialists that we can be referred to.
We need to feel safe with the healthcare practitioners we work with which means both in our relationship with them and in their clinical skills.
When we put our faith and trust in someone we also need them to be clear about where they can help and honest about where they can't.
We need them to work in partnership with us respecting all of the healthcare rights we have as an individual, the expertise we have about how our unique body works and the ability to assess and collate all of that into clear next steps.

Diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome at 20 I spent years piecing together the causes behind my own illness and then over a decade supporting others to do the same. This means that i know first hand, and professionally, how complex the picture can be, how much of a financial strain ill health can be and, for many of us, how lonely this journey can feel.

My healthcare career began straight out of school first training as a physiotherapist, then managing complex disability services in an Oxfordshire hospital within the UK's National Health Service while completing a Masters level qualification on healthcare politics and finally moving into a psychotherapeutic role working with people with complex physical conditions well over a decade ago.
I spent 10 years working clinically at the award winning Optimum Health Clinic and have been in private practice for 5 years as an Advanced Practitioner in Emotional Freedom Technique, hypnotherapist, life coach and NLP practitioner.

When I became a physiotherapy student over 25 years ago I signed up to a healthcare code of ethics that has been the driving force behind how I enter into any relationship with a client. It is a particular mission of mine to ensure that people with chronic ill health receive the same quality of care, respect and collaberation as those with acute illnesses often get.
