There’s an important difference between anonymous, aggregated data about website visitors — which helps me understand how my website is being used — and the highly personal and confidential health information you may share with me as a client.
I want to make that distinction as clear as possible. Below, I explain in plain language what information I collect, why I collect it, how it is used and how it is stored. You can also download my full Privacy Policy for the complete details.
Because I’m based in Spain, the personal data I collect, use and store is subject to Spanish and EU data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain’s Organic Law 3/2018. Spain’s independent data protection authority is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
For my UK clients, I also comply with the relevant UK data protection requirements and am registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
I take your privacy seriously, particularly when it comes to health information, and I want you to feel informed and comfortable about how your data is handled.
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some help the website function properly, while others help understand how the website is being used.
This website may use:
When you first visit, you’ll be given the choice to accept all, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences. Simply browsing the website does not mean you’ve consented to non-essential cookies.
Links to other websites
My website may include links to other websites. Once you leave my site, their privacy and cookie policies apply, and I’m not responsible for how those websites collect or use your information. I encourage you to check their privacy policies before sharing any personal information.
If you contact me through my website or directly by email, I may collect your name, email address, telephone number and any information you choose to share about what you’re looking for.
I use this information to respond to your enquiry, understand how I may be able to help, and communicate with you if you decide to work with me. It may also help me improve the services I offer.
I won’t use your details to send you marketing or promotional messages. I’ll only contact you when you’ve asked me to, to arrange or manage appointments, or as part of the normal administration of our work together.
I always welcome feedback, updates and comments, but I’ll never ask you to provide them. I may, on one occasion, invite a former client to share a testimonial, as I know that hearing from others can help someone feel a little more confident about taking that first step. There is absolutely no obligation to provide one.
Before your first session, I’ll ask you to complete a short Intake Form covering relevant personal and health information. This helps me understand your circumstances and provide appropriate, personalised support.
I’ll also ask you to read and sign a Client Contract and Privacy Policy, so that you’re clear about how we’ll work together and how your information will be handled.
Any information you share through these forms or during our sessions is kept securely for the duration of our work together and for 10 years after our work ends, in line with the requirements of my insurer.
I use Rehab Guru, a secure cloud-based platform designed to store health information and provide the video consultation system I use for online sessions. You can find more information about Rehab Guru’s security and compliance on their security page.
My full Privacy Policy explains clearly what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how it is used and stored, and the rights you have over your data.
It also covers things such as cookie consent and your data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
I ask all clients to read and sign the Privacy Policy before we begin working together, so you can feel clear and informed about how your information will be handled.
A gentle reminder
My work is designed to complement, not replace, medical care. If you’re currently under the care of a doctor, consultant or other healthcare professional, I encourage you to continue that relationship alongside any work we do together.
If you are experiencing an acute medical or mental health crisis, please seek immediate support. You can attend your local emergency department, call the emergency services (999 in the UK / 112 in the EU), or, if you are in emotional distress and need someone to talk to, contact the Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland.
